Trip to the Philippines (Christmas 2010 – New Year 2011)
Road Trip to the Batangas Province.

Plane taking off. Next stop – Naia terminal

Caleruega – Nasugbo, Batangas

A small chapel on top of a mountain. Pretty scenic location to get married at.

View of the Taal Volcano within Taal Lake @ Leslie’s Restaurant at Tagaytay, Batangas. Definitely a good spot to indulge with the local gastronomic delights.
That small mountain-looking island is the Taal Volcano and it is still pretty active.
no way jose’.
So I’ve sent a couple of films for processing today and it’ll be ready for collection tomorrow afternoon. I also went to a renowned camera repair shop for yet another camera consultation for my Yashica SLR. It was quite ridiculous I should say, well, no offence to the loyalists of the said establishment but I was quoted $35 for a change of Battery Lock. A mere lock for the battery at the bottom of the camera. Sheesh. He also suggested to leave my camera to him for futher diagnostics so that he can fix the internal mirror and meter and other stuffs as he can see that my electronic meter was rather heywire (and that’s because of the battery weakened over time!). I only wanted him to remove the battery cover/lock so that I can change the battery, is all!. Total quotation? He gave me a humble $150. How Awesome.
Seems like I’ve got to get a new old camera as back up. Maybe a Rangefinder this time round, we’ll see.
Another year ahead.

2010 was like no other. It passed by quickly and everything happened too fast that it felt too surreal. I didn’t made tonnes of new friends nor did I accomplished marvelous awards but one thing’s for sure – I understood things in a clearer perspective (or so I think I did). That life is about doing what you want no matter what others might say. Its about being able to realize that the most important things in life is what you already have. That sometimes, the greatest things in life are free. A year that made me realize what I truly want in life. A year of soul/self-searching. A year truly cherished. Farewell 2010.
As for 2011, I’ll continue to be me, do my thing and strive to what lies ahead.
Out.
Back in Singapore!
Oh I miss Manila already. Manila is such a fun place to go to.
Piccas will be up sooner or later.
Out.
damn my film camera broke down, left with Canon compact.
Anywho, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
fly me to…MANILA!
I’m Flying to Manila tomorrow!!
Oh god I can’t wait! I actually bought 3 plane tickets at different days to accommodate my internship schedule!, goodness, can you just imagine that.
Christmas is WAY better in Manila. Place where everyone celebrates the festive day, oh I just love it. Don’t let me talk about New Year yet, cause…I’m gonna celebrate New Year there too! (first time in 8 years!) yahoo!
Unfortunately, I’ve gotta go to work first thing in the morning to do some UV mutagenesis testing. Hopefully I end at around 11am so I can rush to get other necessary stuffs done, flights around late afternoon though, Just nice, will be there before clock strikes midnight, Noche Buena! (its a spanish term used in the philippines. I don’t really know the direct translation but its what we call the feast when clock strikes midnight, transition from 24th to 25th. There’s another one for New Year’s Eve too). Heck, I’m so excited!

And so the search ends today…
I’ve got my new digital camera!

I was pretty amazed on how good the image quality is, well it better be considering that I could have been hundreds richer if not for this prosumer compact. I’ve yet to test each and every function as I’m still charging the battery (first charge requires a handful of hours so…I can only play with it tomorrow!).

Images taken with LG GT505
thirty-six.
I copped the Kodak Ultramax 400 instead. $11 for a pack of 3. I’ve gotta watch my spending already.

And so…36 more shots ti’ll finding out whether my home-made D.I.Y light seal kit was a success.
Got my SLR fixed last night. I just hope it solves everything. Now I need to get fresh rolls of film (choosing between fuji superia 400 and kodak ultramax 400).
out.
